textmode graphic art for [link]

tools used : pablodraw (xp application) / aciddraw (dos touchups)

my latest official ansi release, its been two years prior to this since i last dabbled in the medium -

and for those of you who are unaware, ansi , alike ascii are mediums based on the standard DOS character set of back in the good old bbs (bulletin board system) days - with a 16 color limitation. Ansi was used as a promotional tool for all kinds of computer related material of that era, as large and indepth as the underground art scene was in its prime (lasted over 10 years beleive it or not) its days are numbered down to a few diehard fans such as myself who still to this day find time to dabble in such a basic yet complex medium.

for any of you who might be interested in trying your hand at such a sport, you can find a windows ansi editor @ the following link

Daily Deviation, 2004-09-20

Daily Deviation::GIII. SixteenColors.NET by ~taintedxl is the most elaborate, detailed ANSI work I have seen, and that's not even taking into account the subtle ASCII art fused with it. Make sure you full view this spectacular Gigeresque deviation to fully appreciate it! (Featured by `blackice)

"Send me dead flowers to my wedding,
and I won't forget to put roses on your grave.
Cool mixture of different styles here, I'm digging it. Had to dig up the original picture to compare it. The shading/rastering looks somehow messy but works very welll. I like the touch of green on the B&W.
ASCII-ANSI fusion on an H.R. Giger base = /<-r4d!@#$
this is just insane. i cant believe how brilliant it is. a very well chosen DD for sure

i comment because i think your art is worthy of being critiqued. not cos i whore myself. not cos i care about being returned the favor. cos *you* deserve it. get it through your heads. if you think i deserve something, thats cool too.
Excellent work, looks great!
yeah that's freaking awesome.
awesome congrats on the DD
Im not too familiar with this art form, although you would think this would be closely related to pixel-art. I like it, eventhough I'm not sure on how you made it. I can still see this must've taken an effort. Well done!
interesting....
congratulations on the DD
